A "MUST HAVE" when caring for parents or complicated medication schedule

We purchased this system for my mother-in-law about a year ago when we started taking over responsibility for her care. My husband was caring for her, but was not able to be there at the same time every day to make sure she was getting her medication. We tried the other, cheaper solutions, but with her dementia she was unable to properly use it … she ended up throwing it across the room a couple times because the alarm wouldn't shut off. This dispenser was our saving grace!! I set it up with text alerting for when she was missing a dose or when she dispensed her medication. This allowed me to call her and ensure she "pushed the button" to dispense her meds on time. There were also times she would swear "I haven't had my medication in over a week …", I was able to show her my text messages and assure her that she was getting her medication. The dispenser was very easy to setup, and any questions were IMMEDIATELY answered by David and his team. Everyone was pleasant and extremely helpful every time I communicated with them!! After doctors appointments I was able to easily make medication changes right from my phone. Refilling medications was a breeze after understanding how to measure and properly setup each container. I would HIGHLY recommend this machine for anyone who either has a complicated medication schedule or is caring for someone when you can't be there every second of the day to ensure medications are being given and taken properly.

Lifesaver

This machine has been a lifesaver for my mother who has early Alzheimer's. I am able to get a text alert every time she took or missed her medications.

Improves Health and Offers Peace of Mind

Before using Livi, my 86-year-old father would rarely take all nine of his pills each day. I sorted and organized them to no avail. I purchased a medical alarm clock to remind him when his pills were due. Rather then take his pills 3 times each day, he found a small screwdriver and removed the batteries. Several times a year I drove my father to urgent care or to the emergency room. In December of 2017, he was hospitalized for two days. His hormone levels in his thyroid were low. He was not taking his Synthroid or any of his medications as prescribed. He started using Livi immediately after this short hospital stay. The machine was a little overwhelming when I set it up the first time, however; the support staff is tremendous. They are pleasant, personable and knowledgeable. They even answered my questions on a Sunday over the phone. I never had any problem with the machine that they did not offer a solution. Remote updates work flawlessly, and I can perform them from my smartphone. My dad cannot turn the machine off or unplug it without me getting a text. Livi is locked with a key; he cannot get inside to take extra pills. My father has learned turning the sound off to ignore the machine does no good. I call him if it looks like he is not going to take his medication on time. All he must do is push a big flashing blue button to dispense. With a flashing button, a beeping sound, and text messages sent to me, he takes his pills each day on time and without fail. His thyroid hormone levels and his blood pressure are now normal. He went from 180mg of blood pressure medicine to 25mg. He has had zero emergency room and zero urgent care visits in 2018. Livi has improved his health and extended the time my father can live alone. It has probably prolonged his life. It has given me peace of mind. I spend considerably less time managing his medications. Without exaggeration, I do not know what I would do without Livi.
